2018-2019 NFL Playoffs Predictions

Finally, Deejay will provide his predictions for who he thinks will make the playoffs in each conference, and then discuss his thoughts on who will win each conference and hence, who will win Super Bowl LIII.

AFC

1. New England Patriots (13-3)
2. Pittsburgh Steelers (11-5)
3. Houston Texans (11-5)
4. Los Angeles Chargers (10-6)
5. Kansas City Chiefs (10-6)
6. Jacksonville Jaguars (10-6)

Conference Champions: New England Patriots. It could be a heart over head prediction to some, but, I still believe that the New England Patriots are the best team in the AFC, meaning they will earn the best record and win the conference championship another time. Even though I believe a slight regression in the play of Brady will occur, especially later in the year, he is still one of the best Quarterbacks in the league and he, alongside Offensive Coordinator Josh McDaniels, will be the focal points to leading the offense to be one of the best in the league yet again. Having one of the best coaches in the league in Bill Belichick will also help the team, especially defensively to balance out the team and make another run at a championship.

NFC

1. Los Angeles Rams (13-3)
2. Atlanta Falcons (12-4)
3. Green Bay Packers (11-5)
4. New York Giants (10-6)
5. New Orleans Saints (11-5)
6. Minnesota Vikings (10-6)

Conference Champions: Los Angeles Rams. In what looks to be an extremely stacked top heavy conference, I believe that the team to emerge as conference champion will also hold the number 1 seed. The Los Angeles Rams have one of the youngest head coaches in the history of the league in Sean McVay, but, he also looks to be one of the best in the league at the moment too after leading the Rams back to the playoffs with an 11-5 record in his first year last season. The team still has a lot of youth, but the veteran additions in this past offseason looks to be what will push them over the top from last year to be the best in the conference, provided the new additions don’t disrupt the locker room which I believe they won’t because winning will help ease any issues. Both sides of the ball look to be versatile and deep enough to be able to compete with the very best and with McVay leading the offense and Wade Phillips leading the defence, they look to have what it takes to compete for the Lombardi trophy.

Super Bowl LIII

Super Bowl Champions: New England Patriots. In what I believe will be a very hotly contested game between the Patriots and the Rams for the Super Bowl LIII trophy, I think the Patriots will come out on top. I think the career of Tom Brady is going to come full circle with him concluding his career by winning his sixth Super Bowl against the team he beat to win his first. I am of the impression that the Patriots will be on a revenge mission following last year’s loss in the Super Bowl to be as locked in as ever to try and win the title. The Rams will be extremely formidable on both sides with all the talent they have, but I think their slight inexperience especially at Quarterback and the Head Coach spot will be the difference. My final score prediction is New England 34 – Los Angeles 28.
